Currently HPC offers dedicated Linux and windows family virtual machines. Hence, you need to get enough familiar with the operating system in the first step.
Use standard ssh protocol to access Linux machines. All of the unix family operating systems have the right tool to use this protocol. Some Windows versions like Windows 10 support the protocol. In addition, you can use putty, winscp, and similar tools. For windows machines, you need to use the Remote Desktop connection with the OS.
Please note that the machine will granted to you for a limited period, after which the machine will be recycled and the allocated resource will be revoked. You are advised to always create a backup copy of your data, especially the output of your programs.
